Mary Moser
Owner & Salon Coordinator
I have been lucky enough to have had two amazing careers so far in my life! My first career spanned 23 years in the Navy…I retired in March 2002 after my final tour with a Special Programs Unit in Washington, DC. Throughout my time in the Navy and moving from one coast to another I was fortunate to have met and served with so many outstanding Sailors and Marines. I started my naval career in Pensacola, Florida and was stationed at locations all around the US and great places like Misawa and Kadena Japan and a very remote island in the middle of the Indian Ocean called Diego Garcia!
My retirement from the Navy was as some would say a little bittersweet. Although I was ready to transition to a new career, I knew that my life would never be the same. I can tell you that my decision at the age of 20 to enlist into the service was the moment that guided and has help define my life and continuing career path.
Over the past few years I continued to follow my husband who was still on active duty for another seven years! As a new career, I continued to develop my skills and expertise mainly in customer service fields. I worked as an Executive Assistant at Group 70 International, an Architectural, Planning and Interior Design firm base in Honolulu, Hawaii. Our next move sent us to Panama City, Florida, where I held positions as Administrative Assistant to the Director, Human Resource Generalist, and Security/Facility Manager for ITT Corporation.
It was finally time for the last TOUR of duty….my husband retired in 2008 and in 2009 I found myself starting to plant roots (finally) in beautiful Dayton, Nevada.
After retiring from the Navy and for the past 11 years my path was always to start or own a business….fast forward to 2013 and the reality is better than the dream!!! I found TRU Hair Studio almost immediately after relocating to Dayton and have been a guest here myself for the past three years. I love the atmosphere and always had a fun, relaxing and enjoyable experience each time I visited Rachel and the team at TRU.
After about a year of planning Rachel and I made the transition and ownership was transferred in January 2013. My background in customer service and management really helped me to forge this new “partnership” with Rachel and the team here at TRU Hair Studio. We have an amazing style team and consistently promote our educational requirements to grow and develop our entire staff. I look forward to the next chapter as we bring on more stylists, expand our services and create a whole new experience for our guests at TRU.
My husband Andre (co-owner of TRU) and I are happily settled here in Dayton for the long term. We share our home with two very energetic Chihuahua’s (Scooter & Molly)! We have four grown children who live in Tennessee and Oregon. We both love to travel, read, and relax every chance we get, are big NASCAR fans and I get to watch Andre as he overhauls a classic 1937 Ford Flatbed Truck from the ground up and hope that eventually he gets around to my 1969 Camaro.
